We take your privacy very seriously. Please read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information on who we are and our information practices, meaning how and why we collect, use, disclose, share, store, and retain your personal information. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal information and how to contact us in the event you have a complaint or request.
In short, we collect, use, and are responsible for certain personal information about you.
One thing to know up front, because it is different from most websites you visit. We are a political campaign committee. Rhode Island law requires us to publish certain information about people who contribute to us. Section 03 explains exactly what becomes public.

Personal information
Any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
Sensitive personal information
Personal information revealing a person's Social Security number, driver's license and passport numbers, account numbers and credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or union membership, personal information concerning a person's health, sex life, or sexual orientation, and the contents of a person's mail, email, and text messages where we are not the intended recipient.
We do not ask you for sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send it to us.
#02 Personal Information We Collect About You
We may collect and use the following personal information about you:
Contact and supporter information
Your name, email address, mailing address, and mobile telephone number, when you give them to us.
Message content
The content of emails, text messages, and web form submissions you send to us.
Technical information
Your Internet Protocol address and basic, anonymous analytics about how our website is used.
Contributor Information
If you contribute to the campaign, your name, mailing address, occupation, and place of employment, along with the amount and date of your contribution. See Section 03.
We do not collect biometric information. We do not collect health information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you do not provide the personal information we ask for, it may delay or prevent us from responding to you or adding you to the list you asked to join.
03 Public Disclosure of Contributor Information
This section describes something people are often surprised by, so we want it stated plainly rather than buried.
If you contribute to this campaign, some of your personal information becomes a public record. This is not our choice. Rhode Island law requires it.
Rhode Island law requires this committee to file reports with the Rhode Island Board of Elections containing the name, address, and place of employment of each source whose contributions exceed two hundred dollars ($200), along with the amount contributed (R.I. Gen. Laws § 17-25-7(a)). Those reports are public records. They are posted online by the Board of Elections and can be searched, downloaded, and republished by anyone, including news organizations, opposing campaigns, and commercial data brokers. We have no ability to remove that information once it is filed, and no ability to control what anyone does with it afterward.
We collect occupation and employer information for this reason and no other.
If you would prefer that your information not appear in a public filing, you may keep your total contributions for the calendar year at or below the reporting threshold, or you may support the campaign in ways that do not involve a contribution. We are glad to talk this through with you before you give. Contact us using the details in Section 12.
04 How Your Personal Information Is Collected
We collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you, through our website, by email, by text message, by telephone, and in person
- Cookies on our website, for anonymous analytics only
- Publicly available records, including the Rhode Island voter file, which we may match against supporter information you give us so that we can avoid contacting you more than necessary
05 How and Why We Use Your Personal Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes, and for no others:
To send you the campaign updates you asked for. If you joined our email list or our text list, we use your contact information to send you news about the campaign, invitations to events, and requests for support.
To respond to you. If you write to us, we use your information to reply and to follow up.
To organize volunteers and events. If you offer to help or tell us you are coming to something, we use your information to coordinate.
To comply with campaign finance law. We use contributor information to prepare and file the reports Rhode Island law requires, to confirm that contributions come from permitted sources and stay within legal limits, and to issue refunds where a contribution cannot lawfully be accepted.
To keep our systems secure and our records accurate. This includes preventing unauthorized access, detecting fraud, correcting duplicate or outdated records, and general administration of the campaign.
We do not use your personal information for commercial advertising. We do not build profiles of you for sale.
06 Text Messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, the following applies:
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help.
- Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of contributing, volunteering, or receiving any other support from this campaign.
- We do not sell, rent, or share mobile telephone numbers or text message consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your mobile opt-in information is used only to send you messages from this campaign, and is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers those messages on our behalf.
You can also ask us to remove your number at any time by writing to the address in Section 12.
07 Who We Share Your Personal Information With
We share personal information with:
- The Rhode Island Board of Elections, as required by campaign finance law. See Section 03.
- Service providers who help us operate the campaign, such as our website host, our email platform, our text messaging provider, and our voter and volunteer database. They may use your information only to provide those services to us, and not for their own purposes.
- Law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and courts, where we are legally required to disclose information.
We only allow service providers to handle your personal information if we are satisfied that they take appropriate measures to protect it, and we impose contractual obligations on them to that effect.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade our email or text lists to other campaigns, committees, organizations, or commercial parties.
08 How Long Your Personal Information Will Be Kept
We keep your personal information for as long as you are on a list you asked to join, or for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it.
Contributor records are a separate case. Rhode Island law requires this committee to preserve its campaign records, and we retain them for as long as the law requires.
After that, we keep personal information only as long as is necessary:
- To respond to any questions, complaints, or claims made by you or on your behalf
- To show that we treated you fairly
- To keep records required by law
When it is no longer necessary to retain your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it.
09 Keeping Your Personal Information Secure
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorized way. We limit access to your personal information to campaign staff and volunteers who have a genuine need to access it. Those handling your information do so only in an authorized manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach, and we will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.
0 Your Choices
You can:
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message, or by writing to us
- Stop our text messages at any time by replying STOP
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct personal information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete personal information we no longer need
There is one limit we want to be honest about. We cannot delete or withdraw contributor information that has already been filed with the Board of Elections, because that filing is a public record required by law and is no longer under our control.

11 Changes to This Privacy Notice
This privacy notice was published on September 6, 2026 and last updated on September 6, 2026.
We may change this privacy notice from time to time. When we do, we post an update on our website.
